Today, in our blog dedicated to wellness, we want to tell you about a project that is very important to us: the MAF SYSTEM.
SISTEMA MAF is a new INTEGRATED CARE AND ASSISTANCE MODEL that responds to the needs of vulnerable people to maintain and, where possible, improve their quality of life through a solution that proposes the introduction of new eating habits and services for monitoring vital signs and lifestyle, all in different contexts, whether at home or in day care or residential social and healthcare facilities.
It aims to provide a concrete response to the vulnerabilities of the target population (people over 65, diabetics, people with dementia, disabled people with comorbidities, etc.) who need to maintain their quality of life and who do not have access to integrated solutions, through an INNOVATIVE MODEL of FUNCTIONAL DIET supported by an INTEGRATED INTERVENTION MODEL to ensure its correct use and accessibility.
The initiative is based on the experience of the PROBIOSENIOR project, which aimed to promote innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by local communities in the field of health and well-being. On that occasion, new probiotic and nutraceutical functional foods were developed and tested to improve the quality of life of senior citizens.
The MAF System aims to go further both from a scientific and research point of view, using new probiotics and supplements to enrich the range of functional foods, balancing personalized diets; and from an organizational and development point of view, providing integrated care that monitors the lifestyle and vital parameters of vulnerable individuals in a comprehensive manner, also involving families in an active role.
A further step forward lies in the activation of MAF HUBs within social and healthcare facilities as logistical hubs that serve both as food distribution points and as functional food centers and points of reference for families and the local community.
